Sockapalooza socks

Miten niin aloitin tekemään Regia Silkistä vaaleansinisiä sukkia ja kuvassa onkin paksummasta langasta tehdyt valkoiset sukat? Noh, teinkin Regiasta sukat kun lomailin elokuun alussa äidin luona. Harmi vain, että unohdin sukat sinne ja toissa päivänä sinne pitkästä aikaan mennessäni kyselin sukkien perään, johon äiti vastasi että "mä kun luulin että ne on mulle ja oon käyttänyt jo niitä"... Eikun nopeasti uudet sukat puikoille !

How come do I remember that I started to make sockapalooza socks with light blue Regia Silk and how come there's white socks in the picture? Well, I actually MADE socks out of Regia while I was spending my holiday at my parents in the beginning of August. Unfortunately I forgot the socks there and on the other day when I went back there I asked my mom about the socks. "Oh, I thought they were made for me and I've using them all the time" ... I needed to get a new pair of socks as fast as I can.


Nancy Bushin Gentleman's Fancy Socks Knitting Vintage Socks -kirjasta. Muokkasin ohjetta hieman; paksummalle langalle, aloitin varpaista päin, erilainen kantapää. Oikeastaan mallineulekaan ei ole täysin samaa, mutta siitä sen idean kuitenkin sain. Omasta mielestäni tuli oikein nätit ja sopivat, parillani on täysin samaa kokoa oleva jalka mittojen perusteella kuin itsellänikin. Pakettina nämä lähtivät tänään kohti Atlantin toista puolta.

The pattern is Gentleman's Fancy Socks from Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush. I made some modifications since the yarn was little bit thicker. I also made them as toe-up socks and used short-row heel. I think they turned out to be pretty nice. Today they went in a package and started their trip over the Atlantic.
